Our Services
Steady Steps Home Physio provides individualised physiotherapy and rehabilitation for adults in Oxfordshire.
1. Mobility and Strength
Reduced strength and mobility can make everyday activities more difficult. Physiotherapy can help you build strength, improve movement and work towards greater independence.
2. Balance and Falls Prevention
If you're worried about falling, have experienced a fall or feel unsteady on your feet, we can assess your balance and mobility and develop a personalised programme to help strength, balance and confidence.
3. Rehabilitation after Hospitalisation
A hospital stay can lead to significant loss of strength, fitness and confidence. Home physiotherapy can support your recovery after discharge, helping you gradually return to your usual activities and work towards your individual goals.
4. Post-operative Recovery
Physiotherapy can support recovery following surgical procedures, whether this was a planned elective operation or emergency surgery following a trauma. We can help you to regain movement, strength and confidence to return to doing the things you enjoy.
5. Management of Long Term Conditions
Living with a long-term condition can have a significant impact on your mobility, strength, balance and independence. We provide personalised support to help manage a range of long-term conditions, including Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, arthritis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), osteoporosis and other neurological, musculoskeletal and respiratory conditions.
What happens during an initial assessment?
Your first appointment will involve a detailed assessment of your current mobility, strength, balance and functional abilities. It will also include a discussion of your home environment, social support and any activities that you enjoy doing or would like to get back to.
We will discuss what you would like to achieve and identify the things that are currently limiting you.
Together we will develop a rehabilitation plan that is realistic, personalised, and focused on your goals.
Treatment may include:
•Individualised exercise programmes
•Strength and balance training
•Functional rehabilitation
•Mobility practice and advice regarding mobility aids
•Falls-risk reduction strategies
•Advice and education
•Guidance for family members or carers
